Bethel #4 Summer Achievements
The member
s of Bethel #4, North Platte attended both the state and international sessions of Job’s Daughters. The state session took place at the UNK campus the week of June 20th and was attended by Nicole, Kaitlyn, Brandy, Desiree, Kyra, Emma and Katie who served this last year as Miss Nebraska Job’s Daughter. During state session, the girls of Bethel #4 competed in both team and individual competitions. In team competitions the girls of Bethel #4 placed 1st in Capes and Crowns, 3rd in Circle of Five, and Sixth in Team Ritual in which they teamed of with the members of Valentine’s Bethel number forty-seven. Individuals saw the girls compete and bring home recognitions on their own right. Nicole received the title of 2011-2012 Daughter HIKE Coordinator based on a essay that she submitted explaining her why HIKE was important to her. The HIKE fund (Hearing Impaired Kids Endowment) is the philanthropic project that is supported by funds raised by Job’s Daughters International members. Nicole also received 2nd place in poetry and 1st place in the essay competition. Brandy competed in the Spirit Ambassador competition and received that title for 2011-2012. Brandy also received 1st place in the 1st messenger competition, junior division. Desiree was chosen for Grand Guide to the state of Nebraska. She also took 3rd place in the Senior Division for Individual Voice and 3rd place in 2nd Messenger Senior Division. Emma was chosen to be a Grand Bethel Representative from Nebraska to Idaho and Espirito Santo in South America. Emma also placed 1st in New Member Librarian’s competition, 1st in beginner jewelry, 2nd in JDI themed scrapbook, 1st in Obligation, and 3rd in the JDI Knowledge test. Kyra received 1st runner up in the Miss Nebraska Job’s Daughter Pageant as well the Verbatim Award, and also took 1st in Individual Voice, Senior Division.
Some members then went on to San Francisco to attend the Supreme Session where they competed against other members from all over the world. The members attending were Katie and Desiree. They joined with other members from all over Nebraska to compete in both individual and team competitions as well. The Nebraska Supreme Messenger team took 2nd place in the international competition, and the Nebraska Choir took 1st in international competition. Desiree Russell received 2nd place on 2nd Messenger. Katie received 1st place on her Majority Member essay and 2nd Place on her Majority Member Poetry competition. Katie and Kyra were also recognized at Supreme session for raising $1000 for the HIKE Fund. Katie also received the Supreme Guardian Council Scholarship to help her with her education.
